Christian’s birthday was on Saturday and we celebrated with a long weekend in Paris. I was so excited to finally visit Paris. All I could think about was the fashion and good food! We weren’t the only tourists there this weekend, we heard many English (American) speaking people. We spent Friday evening and all of Saturday walking through the city. I’ll post about what we did on Sunday & Monday later.
We took the subway quite a bit to get from one area of the city to the next. Christian became a pro at purchasing subway tickets and navigating all the different lines.
We had lunch at a Brassiere and for an afternoon snack, we sat outside at a café and enjoyed a few sweets! On my to-do list was to go to Laduree to purchase macaroons. There was quite a line to get into the store, so Christian waited at a café, while I stood in line. The macaroons were so tasty, that is was worth the wait. We even purchased more macaroons at the airport shop!
We had to get a picture of the two of us standing in front of the Eiffel Tower. We even attended an organ concert at Notre Dame on Saturday night. I was so tired from all our walking (and probably still getting over jet lag from my trip to the US) that I almost fell asleep during the concert! We explored as much as we could in the day and a half in the city of Paris. I am sure that we will go back to see parts that we missed and to enjoy the food and shopping again!
