We want to see The Queen

On our second and last day in London, we took the Underground to Buckingham Palace to see the changing of the guards.  It was a zoo!  We arrived only 15 minutes before it was supposed to start, so we didn’t have that great of a view point.  Christian was able to get some good pictures with the zoom lens but it was definitely hard to see through the swarms of people at the gates to know exactly what was happening.  They had police on horseback directing people through the crowds and to ensure that all walkways were kept clear.

After being fed up with the crowds, we walked towards Harrods and to have tea in the Tea Room.  Harrods was also crowded but we didn’t have to wait for a table to have tea.

After tea, we went to see Big Ben and Westminster Abbey.  We were at the Abbey in time to attend Evensong.

After the service, it was time to head back to the hotel to pick up our luggage and go the airport for our flight to Dusseldorf.
