Driving through The Netherlands

To break up the drive from our apartment to Amsterdam, we stopped in the small town of Gorinchem.  Christian used to live here for a couple months while working on a tunneling project.  It is a cute little town with picturesque houses and shops along the water.

We also went back to see the windmills at Kinderdijk.  Christian & I were here last November.  I looked at our pictures from that trip and it was still just as green but I am wearing a few less layers at the end of June, but not much!

We had dinner in Rotterdam & on the last half-hour stretch of the car ride to Amsterdam, we ran into a huge traffic jam due to repaving of the highway.  We sat in traffic for an extra hour and a half.  We weren’t so happy car travellers after that.
