The Red Light District & other fun activities in Amsterdam!

My brother wrote this about our day exploring the city of Amsterdam:  When we got to Amsterdam Christian quickly started touring us through the city and he unwittingly also took us right into the Red Light District, where he let out a big “Uh Oh!”  Oh, and hilarity ensued!  There were some interesting sculptures and we saw a few “windows,” although most of us didn’t want to look.  We quickly passed out of the Red Light District and found the architecture in Amsterdam to be very pretty.  Lots of brightly colored buildings with pretty windows, numerous gorgeous canals running through neighborhoods with house boats sitting afloat on them.  We got to tour the inside of one of the ships that had been converted to a houseboat.  If you were a stranger to Amsterdam and someone plopped you down in the middle of the city you would probably have guessed they had transported you to Venice with so many colorful sights and pretty canals weaving through the city.  We enjoyed the sights and sounds of Amsterdam, while also trying some of their ice cream and a trendy restaurant called “Fifteen.”
