It was hot in Venice. There was only so much walking around the city that you could do without wanting to jump into the water. We went to the Lido on Saturday evening and then spent most of Sunday afternoon there. The Lido is a sandbar and on one side is the Laguna Veneta and the other side is the Adriatic Sea with the sandy beaches. The blue-green water was so inviting, just the right temperature and a perfect way to beat the heat. We spent time swimming around in the water and then laying out in the sun warming up again until we were so hot that we had to get back in the water, and so it repeated!
