German Food

While visiting our good friend in Denver, Christian was requested to make a traditional German meal.  He decided to make two of my favorite dishes: Königsberger Klopse and Käsespätzle.  In case you want to try this meal as well, you can click on the names & the links to the two recipes that he made (in German) will open.  I found similar recipes in English: Meatballs in Caper Sauce & Cheese Spaetzle

We started with the Käsespätzle, as it took longer to make.  Christian made the dough & scrapped it in small pieces into the boiling water.  I grated some cheese, which was melted over the cooked spätzle.

Next up, the Königsberger Klopse.  Christian mixed the ground beef & other ingredients into meatballs, made a white sauce and let it all cook together.

The completed meal…one of my favorites!

To make sure that we had a well-rounded meal, our friend made a delicious brussel sprouts salad.
