Neandertal

After church last Sunday, Christian and I drove to the trailhead of an area called Neandertal, which is a valley along the Düssel River.  The first Neanderthal man was discovered in this area.

There were quite a number of people on the trail, but there were a few stretches where it was just the two of us.

This area was filled with limestone.  One of the remains of an oven where they used to burn lime or create chalk….I can’t exactly remember what Christian said.  If you really want to know, I can ask Christian.
