I know…you are probably sick of reading about our trips to Brussels. My mom & I took the train to Brussels early last Thursday. We spent Thursday & Friday touring, while Chris worked long hours in Brussels & Christian was still back in Germany working! We visited some of the same sights as I did with my brother & a couple of new ones.
The hotel where we were staying was close to the Royal Palace, so of course we started our walking tour there.
Moving on again to the Jardin du Mont des Arts.
We had lunch at a little café in the Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert. I also had to stop in Meert in order to buy more waffles (2 soft oblong waffles with a vanilla filling). Christian & I love these treats.
I have heard of pop-up shops but not restaurants. This one was fully booked for the duration of its time in Brussels.
No stop in Brussels is complete without visiting the Grand Place & Manneken Pis.
The Infantry Memorial of Brussels, which stands near a great overlook of the city.
On Thursday night, we met up with Chris for a late snack. We ordered cheese nachos, which were Doritos covered in cheese with some salsa. Who would have thought to make nachos with cheesy chips!
On Friday, we had a late start from the hotel. We went straight to lunch at Georgette’s, so my mom could try their french fries. We also ordered the meatballs, but they weren’t our favorite. I would just recommend going there for their fries!
We visited the Jardin Botanique, which didn’t have so many flowers but lots of greenery. There was a huge tent set-up in the middle of the garden, where concerts for the spring are being held.
That’s the end of our sight-seeing in Brussels. In the next day or so, there will be no more posts specifically about Brussels but about other places in Belgium to visit!
