Tea & Gluhwein

Christian’s mom came for a visit over the weekend.  We knew that she enjoyed Afternoon Tea, so we decided to make a reservation at the Breidenbacher Hof for an afternoon of tea and treats.  This is the same hotel located in Düsseldorf off of Königsallee that Christian and I visited to celebrate my birthday earlier this year.

We took the train into the city & did a little window shopping before heading to the hotel.

Once again, the Afternoon Tea was such a fun and tasty experience.  The only thing we were missing were our hats!

The Weihnachtsmarkt (Christmas Market) opened up this weekend as well, so after tea we decided to walk through the market.  All the lights and decorations made me so excited for Christmas!

As if we didn’t have enough to drink at tea, we got something warm to drink at the market as well before heading home.  Christian’s mom had Gluhwein (mulled wine), I had hot chocolate & Christian had Feuerzangenbowle (rum-soaked sugar cone is set on fire and drips into mulled wine).

Once we got home, I took a few decorations out of our Christmas box to place around the apartment.  Unfortunately, things are looking so crowded with boxes and such that it doesn’t look too festive yet!
