Guest Bedroom

When I got back to Germany from Denver, the flooring and painting guys had finished up all their work and we could finally place our furniture and unpack the rest of our boxes.  I was so excited because the entire second level of our house was just boxes and the guest bedroom bed a dumping ground for papers until we had our office setup. Christian helped with the placement of all the furniture and I did the unpacking of the boxes.

This is the view from the doorway.  The guest bedroom is pretty large and very sunny.  A majority of the furniture is from the US: the queen size bed, the nightstands, dresser and small bookshelf.

We placed the shorter wardrobes from IKEA in this room, so our guests could have some hanging space, as well as shelves and drawers.

We love our accent wall (Farrow & Ball’s Stiffkey Blue).  Although, I think we should look into getting a headboard for this bed, as I am afraid the pillows will rub against the wall and then cause some of the paint to also rub off or create a mark on the wall.

The side opposite the bed is looking a little empty.  I have since replaced the piano bench and added a chair.

Of course, there are still a few things that need to be done.  Finding artwork for behind the bed and on the opposite wall.  We also still just have a light bulb hanging from the ceiling, so we need to find a lighting fixture.  Overall, I think it looks comfy and Christian says it looks very American.  Who wants to come for a visit?
