It doesn’t feel like the Christmas season unless you visit one of the Weihnachtsmarkt (Christmas Market) in Germany.  Christian and I visited the Bonn Weihnachtsmarkt the first weekend it opened in November.  I was quite impressed with the market.  I loved the wooden stalls and it was quite large.

A couple of the booths had talking and singing reindeer!

Christian drank a glass of Glühwein & ate a sausage and I had hot chocolate & Reibekuchen (potato pancakes).

We visited the Köln Weihnachtsmarkt with Christian’s mom when she was visiting and before the rest of the family arrived.

The Kölner Dom provided a picturesque background for the market.  Although, it was pretty crowded & I heard lots of English speakers.  We had Glühwein and hot chocolate before heading to dinner at Früh, one of the famous Kölsch breweries.

Germany really knows how to celebrate the season!
