Mallorca, Spain–Part 3

On our second-to-last day in Mallorca with the family, we visited Playa Es Trenc.  It is a beautiful & popular, white sand beach in the southwest of Mallorca.  We got our exercise walking along the sand.  It was warm but still a little chilly to be swimming in the water!

In the afternoon, we made a quick stop in Cala Figura, a small fishing village.

We had a special dinner that evening in Canyamel.  This is the area in the northeast where Christian and his family vacationed many, many years ago.  There is a popular restaurant called Porxada de Sa Torre, known for their suckling pig (porcella) & serving traditional Majorcan food.  The restaurant is located next to the La Torre de Canyamel, the Canyamel Tower.

On our last day, we spent a few hours visiting the capital of Mallorca, Palma.  The most impressive & hard to miss attraction in Palma is the La Seu, the Cathedral of Palma de Mallorca.  It is sometimes called the “Cathedral of Light” due to all the stained-glass windows.

The rest of the time in Palma was spent walking through parts of the city.

Before we knew it, the weekend was over!  We hope that Christian’s mom enjoyed her birthday weekend.  Mallorca is such a beautiful island and I am ready to spend more time here!
